I didn't catch that (the VA gov. address) but am seeing now that Dexamethasone (common steroid) is showing some real promise in European studies! It's common, readily available, and inexpensive even to countries who do not have strong health care systems.

Unfortunately the easing of restrictions and wild Memorial Day behavior is now showing a spiking of cases around the country, including hospitalizations, and one University thinks there will be well over 200,000 US deaths by October.
Right now, roughly 1 in every 385 +/- NYC residents have died.

And... Beijing China is now getting hit and they think it's a stronger and/or mutated (more virulent) strain that is hitting them.

Too bad I am allergic to it. I took it at the beginning of last year and I felt like I had spiders crawling under my skin. I also had severe mood swings to the point I couldn't even go in public, it was horrible. I stayed to myself for months, I didn't want to talk to anyone at all. It made my head ring and it was just insane. When I slowly came off of it, I had insane withdrawals and they lasted for a week. I wanted to scream at the doctor who prescribed them, but we didn't know I would react like that.

Oh the POOR BABY!
She has SUCH a sweet face!
I'm sure she feels better without all those mats pulling at her skin, but I'll bet she doesn't appreciate it a bit! And I'm sure she knows you're laughing at her - cats are extremely in tune to derision. You'll likely get some pretty impressive sulks out of her until either she grows back in or the novelty wears off. Until then, please don't laugh at her too hard ... (giggle, giggle, snort) or you'll hurt her feelings ... (snigger, snicker ... guffaw!)
Awww, never mind ... just go ahead and laugh! That's what they do to us all day, so I'm told (by the dog, who would NEVER lie to me!) The cats hide behind the sofa, pointing claws and snickering under their whiskers. Serves her right!

Poor kitty! First, an awful day at the barbers, and then laughter???
I saw the news too, not unexpected at all. I'm sorry about your problem with (was it dexamethasone?) . I have real issues with some antibiotics, and hope to never have to take one of them.
Mary
