Recipe, please? I could use a good flavor smack in the morning. I don't need another shut-down, closed-off" day like I had, today. The roller coaster got to me, so with the kids at their father's, it was just me & the critters. I got NOTHING done, but there was no avoiding the vegetative state. Tomorrow has GOT to be better!
Recipe is a "to taste" mix.
My 'coffee cup' is over 16-20oz in size to reference what I'm mixing to fill, okie dokie smokey?
* 1 small squeezed lemon WITH pulp
* ~1tsp (heeping or more) turmeric powder
* Honey (I drizzle 2-3 laps around the inside wall of the cup before anything else goes in the cup)
* Ginger root (anywhere between ~1tsp powder to a ground up chunk of fresh root = to a golf ball in size)
Most mornings that's the main mix.
Then pour boiling water in cup and stir.
Let sit until it's barely sip-able. Keep storing before you drink as settling is a quick reality as it cools.
Some times I get into a "hot kick" and add either or both as well:
* Cayenne (the most I have used ~1/2tsp)
* Peprika (prefer smoked flavor ~same as cayenne)
This is also added to my all day mixed as a base as well.
The daytime "stay hydrated" outside drink has a few other ingredients that I mix & match depending that's open in fridge or in the pantry. It is ALWAYS cut ~50% with water.
* This deep green powder (forgot name)
* Cranberry juice (OR dried berries)
* Apple juice
* Bai coconut or lemon juice mixes
* Gatorade powder (~1/3 the 32oz dose)
* OJ
* Grapefruit juice OR fruit & pulp
* Acia dried berries
* Knudsen juices
* Pineapple juice (from the fruit can, etc)
* Tea (unsweetened)
* Homemade kumbucha
I have about 6+ ~32oz smart water & Gatorade bottles I have been reusing for easily over a year now that have a nice golden tint from the turmeric.
YMMV so enjoy & experiment at will.
Nothing has HFCS and all are real juices or actual fruit pulped etc.
I have given this initial recipe elsewhere in a thread back -- geez -- 6+ months ago....
Maybe I ought to cut and paste it as it's own thread in the "foodie zone?"
One of the USPS office staff that knows me over the last decade decided to name it my "jolly juice". So, cheers.
