@MROO, You need to start rewriting history books!:hugs
People don't like it when you start messing around with what they "know" is the truth. Just look at what's happening now, with Civil War artifacts. Just because people don't agree with a facet of history doesn't mean we should erase it all. If we ignore the uncomfortable or bad bad parts, we're doomed to repeat them. We need to KNOW our history and LEARN from it. That's the way we grow - both as individuals AND as a Nation.

I only wish, authors would tell the whole truth, without bias, to begin with!

YOU, My Dear, are the kind of teacher every student needs! There aren't enough - at least not in the upper grades - who care that much. DD just switched her career choice from Agricultural Science to Education - mainly because she was blessed enough to have three really inspiring teachers, this year.
Well, thanks. I need to hear that sometimes. With schools closed and plans for the fall leaning towards distance learning (yuck), I've been getting lots of hate. I didn't ask for the pandemic. I didn't want the school to close. I didn't want any of it. I'm just coping, like everyone else.

For your daughter: I don't recommend teaching. The hours are ridiculous, the pay is lousy for the amount of education that's required, and it isn't a very well-respected profession. But it is fun sometimes, the kids are great, and it is rewarding (sometimes)

I don’t have social media either unless BYC counts. I just disconnected from cable (we watch Netflix sometimes). We do puzzles, games, and read a lot. I HAD social media though but I disconnected from it.
We USED to do puzzles. I LOVE puzzles ... but now we have four cats. No more puzzles at our house ... sigh!

1000% this. I don't want to repeat a lot of it.

There is a plus side! My local pastor brings me lunches the students would normally eat each day. No students at the schools, but that doesn't stop the food services! :D
