Interesting enough. There is a way to ask or order a report from Alexa or her software to find out about all the things she has listened to and recorded while in use (or sleeping). We personally haven't done it, but my tech friend has and it was very creepy. Alexa listens all the time...
Well yeah, once you say "Alexa," it starts listening. What is the command to tell it to stop listening? There isn't one, is there? 😳

We don't have Alexa or anything like it. And we won't. Of course (ETA) my phone cold be listening and recording .... I have z piece of tape over the selfie camera lens, though. 😉
I was and still am against their useage in our homes. Sadly, the eldest step-son who went into computer science degree territory and into security stuff too was soin love with it that he talked his Mom into getting the crap....

so I have routinely unplugged them as often as I could even though they like to have one plugged in at the lakehouse and talk to it alot..... and yet, she wonders *WHY* she gets creeped out by the targeted ad's for "X" in this or that app on her phone or when she's on the laptop or at the office desktop with her phone next to her all the while......

How this virus has affected me is, it's cost me a couple of friends. My bestie, actually. She is one of those that believes it's no worse than the flu, is a government or media hoax, will quickly blow over; no special actions need be taken, masks and distancing are absurd and unnecessary, etc. So, I don't want to be around her. She thinks I'm a fool, of course, and she scares me to death. I miss her.

I am so sorry. That is sad. People can have different opinions and believes, yet they should be able to respect each other. You can respect that she thinks it is a hoax, that is her thing. However, she should also respect that you take it seriously and it really doesn't take that much to stay apart 6 feet or wear a mask. We are all doing it. Some people for more than 8 hours straight. These times are hard, it makes it harder to go through them without our friends.

I won’t be getting the vaccine any time when it’s first out. I get a yearly flu shot and until this vaccine is good for a couple years, I won’t be trying it.
Good choice if you have a president that has the power to persuade the medics and a vaccination program starts because he says it safe.
But if independent medics say it is safe (from by-effects) I would vaccinate asap.

btw. A vaccin can never guarantee it will work as it should if a virus mutates. The flew vaccin is a cocktail of vaccins and changes every year because the flew mutates. So will this Covid-19 virus.
