In the Netherlands most people don’t wear masks. Because our Fauci claims there is not enough proof it will help. He looks wise :old but is stupid :smack . Every other specialist on this virus says it does help. Somewhere between 0 and 60% according to all the research. Why he chooses to believe the 0%? Autism?

Its clear we do worse here then other countries were they do wear masks. Our health care system is getting into trouble again in this second wave. So much Covid positives, so much people in hospital again, and the ICUs are getting overloaded again. Medics and sick people groan because they don’t want to cancel planned health care and operations again.
This evening we got more restrictions bc Covid is spreading too fast. Everyone is obliged to wear a mask in shops and other public places. Work at home if possible. Pubs and restaurants close for 4 weeks. No alcohol sales after 8 pm. Max 30 persons in theaters, churches etc. Public transport only if necessary.

I do hope people listen this time. They found out that about 20% of the people that where infected didn't go into quarantine. Most of these 😤 went out for shopping 🛒 and some even went to work knowing they had Covid!

Lots of (crazies) here too, and we have way too many cases, and deaths. Our big fall and winter family holidays are going to be non-events for DH and I, wishing to survive and enjoy them next year!

No Easter, no Mother's Day, no Father's Day, missed birthdays. We did a family Zoom for Easter - it only depressed me. We have gotten together a couple of times for outdoor family gatherings, but are now approaching the season where that will become impossible. Grand daughter and her future husband just purchased a home, and want to host Thanksgiving. There would be 11 people there and by proxy everyone with whom they have had contact. My gut says it is a bad idea, but the Princess is intent on going. We'll see how things are in NJ at that time. Now is not the time to take stupid chances.

My family is small. There are just 8 of us in 4 different households in the same city.

We will have Thanksgiving and Christmas together. Hugging and kissing will be out. We may not sit down at the same table. But we can distance and move around and we can still hear one another from 6' or 8'.

Of course everything's subject to change depending on what comes up but the fact that my oldest has been working closely with Covid-infected people since January (or possibly even December last year) and stays healthy gives us a sense of deep respect for the virus but also real hope for remaining healthy when we practice good protocols and limit our exposure to only people we know VERY well whom we know VERY well are being equally responsible.

our family unit of 6 will have a newborn so we will isolate ourselves for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Son daughter, and son in law all work in covid careful environments and must wear masks all day. In each of our houses we are old-time normal---including hugs. I am grateful daily for this
