There are dogs who are just interested in filling their bellies regardless of what's available to do the job.

I had a friend who had a Standard Poodle who was like that. They had socks go missing all the time only to end up in the grass when the dog squatted. One time he ate a bikini bottom and because of the size and shape and stretchy property of the material it stayed embedded in his stomach.

They had no idea what had happened. Only that he was doing poorly and not defecating at all. It took surgery, which turned out to be just in the nick of time, to discover and remove the missing bikini bottom.
When I was a kid, we had a dwarf poodle 🐩 who loved to eat dirty underwear 🩲 . :sick

I still have peek-a-boo towels (they have random holes in the middle) left from my border collie mix who had a "thing" for terry cloth. He was into dirty drawers, as well, but terry cloth towels were the best! I don't miss the laundry messes, but I sure do miss my boy, which is probably why I can't bring myself to toss those last two towels ...

And to follow up on the dirty underpants...

From a covid point of view, how are you guys dealing with/have dealt with voting this year? Normally I go to a smaller local volunteer fire department on the day of whatever election is going on, and stand in line.

This year I was hoping there would be some ballot drop boxes available around the county, but thus far I can find none. I guess we are too small as I know bigger VA places are offering them.
There is/has been early voting at the registrar's office, but since I live in an area that has been extremely lax in safety protocols I was hesitant to go stand in line. Second story office, small space, stairwell/elevator to get up there...add in whatever germy hiding places you can think of...

So I opted to send mine snail mail early so I could track it. Figured if it got lost or delayed I'd still have time to go in person if need be. Surprisingly mine only took a few days to arrive. Of course it had to go 90 miles away to a large mail hub before being sent right back to the small town next door to me, but it took a normal amount of time.
Still though, would have preferred a ballot drop box.

I have 2 drop boxes within 10 miles. So that's what I am going to do

In-person ballots, I think. Don't trust the mail to be impartial, and definitely don't trust these online things to be honest and fair.

(Snipped for brevity)

Well, early, in person voting is my plan. Even though our stupid state controlling people are overtly practicing voter suppression. Thankfully our county is smashing early voting records last week.

We had a special election 3 weeks ago and so I got to see how the staff was doing the voting safety protocol....

Y'all stay safe and as sane as possible.
