Our daughter just tested positive. She has been sick for about a week. She's 32 and has all the symptoms to some extent except the loss of taste and smell.

Hi all, first of all, i want to wish to all people postive or that have some relative positive, get well soon! 
Here is from Italy. The decrease of cases that had been in summer stopped, and now we are dramatically increasing. Even intensive units and very bad cases.
There hasnt been lockdown yet, but i really cant understand why not. It seems like in March and hospitals are starting to be full.
It is like a continue deja-vu and no one is doing something to stop.
From the other hand, in the hypotesis of a Total lockdown government should give some helps to people, not continue to give astronomical salaries to our Total inefficient government

A few days ago, I saw a report that Singapore hasn't had a single new case in the last 100 days.
How does that work.

Covid-19 has leapfrogged over 11 previous deadly pandemics. But this one has achieved that level in less than a year.
I learned that in addition to covid, two others are still ongoing. AIDS and apparently Mers is still with us somewhere.
Two previous pandemics killed 1/4 of the earth's population at the time. The bubonic plague and the Plague of Justinian.
I also found this 'mythbusters' post on the WHO website. It includes topics like old vs. young people, hot climates, garlic, bleach, hydroxychloroquine and hot peppers.

My friend's d-i-l is now positive. Her son has had a negative test but, of course, he's been exposed to her so he'll continue getting tested.
The d-i-l works for the Los Angeles emergency preparedness office so she's been consistently cautious since the beginning of the virus' activities on the West Coast. She won't let my elderly friend and her husband visit their only son out of concern for them. But they volunteered for a Get Out the Vote effort in red states and spent the last week ferrying people to polling places and vote drop-off boxes. And now she's got it.
They just bought their first home. It's, of course, small. I'm not sure how her husband will be able to isolate himself.
