Thanks so much!

Oh, speaking of people who have the virus @hispoptart, I hope you and your husband are doing well!
Thanks, So far so good. I'm not getting any better but not really getting worse either, Just more worn down. I'm sure being locked up in my room for the past 7 days does not help. I still can't smell or taste a darn thing and thats really hard on me.
My husband still has not received his test result, but so far so good. He has no symptoms. That in it's self is a miracle.

I'm glad to hear that G felt like he could taste something. That gives me hope. I eat lots of spicy things because I can feel the heat, even though I can't taste it and yes foods with some sort of texture to them.

Oh and as for carrots, pre-covid. My favorite way to eat them was sweetened. With still a bit of bite to them. I don't like mushy veggies.

In due time... All in do time. Don't rush your body's recovery to try to force taste's return.

When I lived in France we ate both horse and rabbit on a regular basis. Not sure what either were fed on.

I don't know if horse was a regular part of the French menu prior to the deprivations of WWII, but when I lived there in the early 70s they were still recovering from the effects of the war. In any case, horse was much cheaper than beef and beef was a very occasional delicacy. Rabbit was always sold with at least one furry paw so that, as a consumer, you were clear that it was indeed a rabbit and not a rat. As I said, the war years must have been terrible and they were still recovering when the US had moved on to great prosperity.

Just to tie that back to Covid, I heard this morning on the news that 1 in 6 Americans is presently in food insecurity by virtue of virus-induced unemployment. And that includes 1 in 4 American children. It's about to get worse as the emergency bailouts are expiring with no new relief in sight ye. That's devastating news as those kids are developing in their bodies and also in their brain and neurological chemistry. My father was an adolescent who went hungry for extended periods during the Depression. It left emotional and probably physical scars on him. We have a whole generation coming who will also bear life-long consequences.

Sorry to be a Sunday morning bummer but this stuff is happening and if we sit by and allow it, it will only get worse because we have a White House and a Senate who. Simply. Don't. Care.
