I'm so sorry, I hope he will be ok.
Sorry for your brother, LittleBrownie. I hope his recovery is swift and he can manage not to infect anyone else in his household.

Is that your friend Dale, sourland? If so, I'm pleased to hear he's gotten a good report from his cardiologist. A great outcome from what sounded so dire at one point.
Thank you both

Oh Good Heavens! See? I told everyone that a snipe is NOT a bird, now I can prove it, because birds aren't real! So ... the next time you head East, lemme know. I'll take y'all out on a gen-yoo-ine Snipe Hunt. I'll even supply the horseshoes and the snare wires ... but you may have to bring your own burlap sacks. The last hunt left mine in tatters. That was one nasty lil' bugger!
The snipe IS a real bird, Google it, there are several varieties. But you can't catch them with a burlap sack. 😉

found out a friend died of covid-19 this morning.
A group from work went to a closed bar for a party. A couple of guys got it. .. my friend, their boss, got it 2 weeks after the party so they think they got it at the party and he got it from them. I guess he had been on ventilator for a week or so.
He was a couple years older than me, only health issue was high BP that was under control
So sorry, Molpet. :hugs

I have a friend just up the street whose whole family has it. Well, they're at the tail end. She said it kicked their butt. The fever, the dry hard cough..her and her husband, and the no smell or taste. Of course the fatigue. They had gotten together ... for, Thanksgiving. She says they thought they would be ok because they are all careful out there, and that they see each other every two weeks anyway. I cussed her out, in a nice way. Said, what did they warn everyone about that? She says..I knooow. 🤷

Oh..went to the nuero office today. Saw the PA. I knew both the Dr. and he had been in quarantine because when they called to make the appt., She told me. Said they had been, near, someone with it. Well, he informs us, my son and myself, that he had ..had it. This was his first day back. He and the surgeon. His whole family got it. Has 8 kids. Says they didn't get it too bad. The no smell no taste was weird. Said his chest still felt a bit tight. 😳. He needed to come to me..I said..nooo..double mask! lol..I was teasing. Drs..dentists, other heath person's need to get close. Like when I went for my mammogram. Go in, this gal is standing there with her mask down below her nose. I thought she would pull it up when she was ready. This a very close interaction that's going to happen for the screening. I just went ahead and said, my husband and I are being very careful, could you put your mask up? I'm thinking, I shouldn't have to say anything, this is in a clinic! She looks at me with quite ..the..look and says, it fogs my glasses. I wear glasses. I said, I know! She put it up. Comes up to adjust my right arm with her face right by mine, and says, I've already had the covid anyway. Oh brother. In Oct. On Halloween..I asked her when. 🙄.

Lessons just may be learned the hard way?
Yah, but .... just because THAT person has had the virus does not mean it is okay for them to breathe all over everyone else!!! Has anyone EVER said, once you've had it you can't spread it??? I don't think so. Nor have they said you can't GET it again. In fact, some people HAVE been reinfected. Here's what we know about this virus: we know that it is a NOVEL or new virus. That it doesn't behave like anything ever seen before, and that it is KILLING us. Why can't we respect it and be careful? Why can't we respect our fellow humans and protect them? I don't understand. I just don't.

I totally get what your saying. [Edit to add: I do agree with your cohierant frustrated reply]

My comment wasn't.... Well let me try this again.

My "wishful thinking" was *hoping* the careless/selfish ones talked of recently. I'm specifically referring to the "PA" who almost didn't put the mask over the nose.
My *hope* is that all these folks learn their lessons sooner rather than later and stop their flawed behavior.....

Maybe my hope is too idealistic?
