Sooooooo, in perfect fashion the Interwebz was in rare form for my search a few moments ago.

In the Xmas tree thread I had a Loony Tunes flashback in my mind's eye.... So I went to find a proper gif to reply with.....

Same folks who want us to be scared of driving without a seatbelt and not wearing a coat when it's cold out. Can't regulate peoples behavior through laws and mandates though, that'd violate our right to walk into business naked and drive without a seatbelt.

Oh! Someone asked about the seam allowance on the socks.

When I did it I used a pattern I had bought. I'm guessing, but I think it probably had about a 1/8" allowance because 1) fleece won't unravel and 2) when I finger pressed the seam open and zigzagged over it I doubt my widest zigzag was wider than 1/4". I did trim it in spots when it was done but not much and only in spots.

Today I'm making my MIL present.... You know, the sort of present to make a MIL go "Oooh my son/DIL is so sweet and thinking of me!". It's a wood plaque/hanging sign with her name and a deer and trees wood burnt into it. The drawing came out good, hopefully the rest will too. I prepped the wood from slabwood we ordered for my fireplace. I believe it's ash. I planed it, sanded it, now I'm decorating it.
