I'd wait 30 minutes, and plan to do that whenever I can finally get vaccinated.

I've had to wait 10-20min during all my vaccinations so that sounds pretty routine TBH. It's just to be sure. The vaccine has a severe reaction incidence of a bit more than 1 in 100,000. Similar anaphylaxis reactions occur in 2 out of 100 people for penicillin. So they're just being extra cautious.

It's good to be cautious! Especially when the crazed anti-vaccers want to highlight every sore arm and whatever...
And I've seen anaphylaxis, nothing to be complacent about.

I agree, but also it's just a precaution to make sure everyone's cared for. We've got many, many more dangerous drugs on the open market that are much more well trusted so the wait itself is nothing to worry about IMO. Just being safe.

The wait is so you don't have to worry! Driving away, and then having a problem, would be way worse.
It's only 20 or 30 minutes! No big deal!

I read an article that talked about younger people waiting outside the hospital at the end of the night for vaccines. The vaccines are being thrown out instead of used, so they pay the medical staff to give it to them. The article mentions a need for a “next in line” list to prevent wasted vaccines.
