I completely understand and endorse your point of view enthusiastically.

It's just that some of us have been here longer and already seen this play out for weeks. That's why I opened with "whenever".

Truly, it's just an idea meant to be helpful. :thumbsup

Meanwhile, so glad you have you in the conversation!

Some people are scared to death of other points of view. I believe in safety but not before freedom. I get repeatedly called names and get crappy DMs from people on a chicken board because I don’t walk lockstep with the vocal majority on here. There are plenty of people who agree with me, some publically and some privately, but that doesn’t matter. I don’t mind standing alone or with a few.

How has covid affected me? An illness I am very concerned about has caused many to forget what freedom is. By God, this is America! I should be able to travel wherever the hell I want unencumbered by government overreach. I shouldn’t need goverment permission to marry any man or woman who wants to marry me. What I put on or in my body is my business alone. I shouldn’t be ordered by the gov to house soldiers in my home or be told what to wear on my face. My family fought tyranny in the Revolution. My family(two freed slaves) fought for the Union to free others.

Safety matters but so does freedom. If you are sick, wear a mask please. If you want to wear a mask for you or others, then do so. But don’t forget that you are an individual with rights. The greater good is a free society! Make your own health choices! You are free. Even if your government says you are not.

Covid has shown me how quickly people will lay down for percieved safety.

By god this is America! Where people went to jail for not wearing masks in 1918! If you don't like it you can leave. XD Like, bye felicia. You've had 100 years to decide not to live in a country like that. It's not new, boo, it's not in the constitution, it's a million percent legal and always has been, and it's not wrong. Cry me a river. Most americans want masks to be mandatory and most folks wear 'em now that it is. If you don't like it go try to sue someone and lose.

I'm really glad about the new mandate. :) More people kept safe. Partner got a new job where he mostly works at home but when he has to go in? He rides the bus. This mandate keeps him safer from nitwits who think it's their right to put others at risk. I love it.

"If you are sick, wear a mask please." I like that. Good plan. But unfortunately, covid-19 is different in that one can be infectious and feel perfectly fine. I have no idea if I have covid; I could be asymptomatic. So could you.

I have freedom. I can choose to use public transport while wearing the required face covering, or I can choose to ride my bike or walk, without a face covering. Freedom! Works for me.

I take your point, but we are told that the vax may not stop you from catching or transmitting asymptomatically. So when does it stop?

Polls and surveys are useless. They are skewed to whatever the surveyer wants. Its quite easy to focus your poll on a geographical location to get the numbers you want
