firehouses around here do similar--but it's a nice drive up there, and everyone can get what they want--ribs or chicken--and I don't have to cook!

The rapid test isn't very reliable...I had two negative rapid tests when I had covid. First test was 5 days after exposure - negative.I had a appointment for vaccine today, had to cancel cause oldest DD who just moved back in with us a couple weeks ago lost taste and smell yesterday got the quick test and +.
I've had some slight congestion and stuffy nose. I spent $65 for the quick test today actually hoping for a positive test, came back negative.
Not sure if it's because we had it and getting over it so not enough to show positive now, or it was just a cold now I have to worry about being sick with a cold and exposed to covid waiting for whatever that'll bring maybe no biggie maybe big biggie....
After getting tested never thought I'd be wishing for a positive but I think I'd feel better right now thinking I'm getting over it not possibly going to have to go through whatever it brings....
CDC still hasn't got a hold of us but pretty sure with DD' s positive we're under quarantine. Called work immediately yesterday when found out DD +. I work Wed-Sat so not going back to work till tomorrow. Called work again told them the deal, have not heard from CDC yet they said can take 24hrs before they get the results, then of course they do the whole close contact stuff so days before I'm actually on quarantine if it happens, work said we don't want you stay home lol![]()
Buddy of mine is a nurse sent home for positive on quick test. Tested negative after .The rapid test isn't very reliable...I had two negative rapid tests when I had covid. First test was 5 days after exposure - negative.
Then I got symptoms. Pretty bad, definitely covid. Could barely handle walking to the toilet and back to bed, lost sense of smell, fever, body aches, cough, etc. For the second test, I was sick enough I had trouble standing in the line for it - rapid test still said negative. Finally got the slower PCR test and THAT came back positive. (In my area, you only got the PCR test after a negative rapid test when you have active covid symptoms. I think a cost-saving thing?)
But moral of the story: don't trust the rapid test.
My #2 DD no probs or pain with Pfizer. DW and mother in law had JJ, said it felt like a real bad bee sting and they heard most people say same thing, they both OK otherwise. DW also prob on quarantine with DD positive covid test cause she had the shot last Fri, not enough time from what we have read to be able to go back to work, work for her found out same thing. All adults in the household (3) got both doses of the Pfizer. No side effects whatsoever, other than a sore arm.
Looking forward to when the kid can get it, hoping before school starts in the fall.![]()
