I'm part of a very large team of nurses who have worked tirelessly to care for patients during this pandemic, but I am first and foremost an individual as are you and every other human being on this planetSays the individual who sees herself just as an individual rather than as a part of a team working for the greater good....
My SIL had a haircut week or so ago, the person that gave her a haircut tested positive called her and told her (friend of hers that owns the salon)Well, I've been very directly exposed singing in the choir at church. My friend (as close to 6ft apart as we can get) sang the entire 1.5hr service with me (we were both masked), and tested positive today. Have to get tested tomorrow. Luckily, my parents and older brother (all at-risk) have been vaccinated.
I work for a county health dept. They are probably understaffed and have too many cases to deal with at the moment. At the height of the pandemic where I work, we were telling people with positive cases that they may or may not hear from the health department. They were focusing their efforts on settings were many people live, for example a nursing home or other care facility. If you have a positive case in your household, then the protocol is for every member of the household to quarantine together, regardless of the other family members test results. Hope this helps and best wishes for a speedy recovery for your family. Were still not officially on quarantine. Oldest DD tested positive Mon, county her BF is in CDC got ahold of him next day and said he's on quarantine. Our county still, this is Thur night, has not put us on quarantine or talked to us and we live with her he hasn't saw her since Sun. Prob why our county has higher cases IDK...? Pretty messed up. Guess I can go wherever I want right?
Were self quarantining and my work still don't want me lol. Maybe they'll call us tomorrow if not maybe next week?..
In NY it was a third of healthcare workers not wanting vaccine. During the beginning of the process here it was only healthcare workers and frontline, and elderly eligible. They were throwing tons of vaccines away here cause not enough showing up. I said from the beginning it should be first them and elderly, vaccines still there drop it down. Get people vaccinated that want it. We just dropped do to 30yrs old last week. Never ran out of vaccines that I know of.It should make you wonder why 60% of the health care population is refusing to get this vaccine
You could be right. We're a big county but rural, county DD's BF is in, he's in rural part but includes a small city, possibly they have more workers and with small city maybe deal with all this more so more on top of it. Our county has had very little cases this whole ordeal so the uptick now could be overwhelming them IDK? Just figured we'd get a call by now/I work for a county health dept. As even John Galbraith (hardly a libertarian) said "You will find that the State is the kind of organization which, though it does big things badly, does small things badly too."In NY it was a third of healthcare workers not wanting vaccine. IMHO letting the government be in control was about the worst thing we could do, the most inefficient method in history.
Where we went recently for DD#2 vaccine state college, OMG, signs everywhere on where to go, permanent signs, light up big signs , more signs.. get to college and many cones directing where to park and then a dude pointing where to go (it's kinda obvious yo)
Mentioned it to a truck driver comes in where I work he said the place near him that does vaccines said they had no clue what they are supposed to do with the tons of money govt gave them. I said guess maybe more signs and hire people to point the direction of travel![]()
Living in upstate NY been kinda weird news coverage from the beginning, most of it how great we were doing..huh...we're the worst.. some of it has came out recently but I don't know if there will be any accountability on it. Probably get swept under the carpet. As even John Galbraith (hardly a libertarian) said "You will find that the State is the kind of organization which, though it does big things badly, does small things badly too."
