Of course "earliest opportunity" goes well with "early to be, early to rise ..." ;)
Probably true and a connotation I obviously missed. 😄 I’m going to blame it on “retirement brain” and continue to advocate for retiring (from the rat race) at one’s first opportunity.
 
I've always been a bit of an outlier. My Counseling mentor is in his mid 70's, became a counselor at 40 and I plan to follow in his footsteps. I'm 54 and got my Masters in 2018. But counseling doesn't (usually) feel like work. As long as you can sit, listen attentively and provide good care you can be a counselor forever. Doesn't mean I'm going to work 80 hours. But I would go crazy without something to do.
