It hasn't, I've had both variants... first time last November I was sick for 2 weeks but never hospitalized, second time this may was just like a cold lasted 3 days. I have worked through the entire ordeal and won't stop.
You continued to work while you had Covid? Twice?

I'm sorry, I just can't figure it out, are you an anti-vaccination person? (Sorry, that sounds quite blunt...)
No reason to apologize.
I decided to be vaccinated because I believe in science and data.
Some on here do not believe in science and data.
I'm pretty interested in it, do you have anything to add?

Doesn't sound very organic does it? Kinda Star Trek'ish.
But what are we to do when they send us a man made genetically modified virus that has been modified to target humans? This has gone beyond GMO, has transcended way beyond GMO.
Have you heard of anyone asking for countries to ban such research? We helped fund it, the USA according to the National institute for health that recently came out and contradicted our NIAID directors testimony, said he was wrong, we did USA help fund gain of function research in the Wuhan lab that brought us covid-19.
And the usa is still giving the wuhan lab money. I just don’t understand.

My DW's aunt who works in a nursing home tested positive for covid during the beginning so was first variant?. Then she was vaccinated and now few months back tested positive again, so maybe probably next variant delta?. Unless there was a false positive on one of those it looks like she's had it twice second time after vaccinated.

Edit just to add, she's mid late 60s , and was asymptomatic, as in NO symptoms both times never would had known positive if her work wasn't weekly testing.
Interesting.

Personally, I think we'd have this pandemic in our rear view mirror if it hadn't been used as political folly.
Here's the summation of the accused lie and the rebuff : Screenshot_20211031-055417_Chrome.jpg

Fauci tried to explain that there is a framework for GOF; what they funded didn't fall into that framework, hence, it wasn't GOF. Here's the framework, if you're interested:https://www.phe.gov/s3/dualuse/Pages/p3co.aspx

Even if it were GOF research, the funding for GOF was cut in 2014. It was reinstated in 2017.

it was a pointless accusation bc they'd been given permission to go back at it. Meanwhile, ppl were dying, and those providing care were doing so w/o adequate supplies-masks,gowns, respirators, qtips for testing, for Pete's sake.
I reuse the mask that I wear while grocery shopping, but I'm not up close and personal with anyone while doing so. Staff reusing masks while caring for covid patients was insane. Wearing garbage bags as gowns less so but not a standard one wld expect in the U.S.
I've been doing a lot of reading about chickens lately. One was published in 2014, right about the time H5N1(bird flu) was moving across Asia. This part struck me:
"the commonality of viruses in birds and man leads to frequent cross infection and mutation, and the fear is that a real baddy will emerge that is well adapted to man and will cause what is known as a pandemic – a worldwide outbreak of a devastating disease. The H5N1 virus does transmit from bird to man relatively easily in the close confines of small units, but human to human transfer is very poor...scientists fear that the time when that mutation allowing the virus to easily transmit to man may not be that far away. There is a fear that such a disease will sweep the world..life as we know it would cease as restrictions to control the disease kicked in. So it is essential that we are all vigilant, and report any reasonable suspicions to protect our fellow man."
That's why they do the research. That's why we vaccinate, why we wear masks.
Why China? https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/china-ground-zero-future-pandemic-180965213/

I'm not big on the whole China conspiracy man made thing as opposed to accidental release/exposure. THAT I know happens very easily, even in our own health facilities.
As shown in the above article, they do try to hide outbreaks sometimes, other times they don't. I understand the fear of backlash and stigma, but it's pointless and only hinders infection control. But - look at us. Everything to do w/infection control and protecting ourselves/others has become a political issue. My grandparent had to go into a sanitorium for TB, the entire household was quarantined. If that happened now,1/2 the country would be up in arms over a basic infection control procedure.
BTW- this wasn't a lecture or soap box, just adding to the discussion. 🙂
