Not here (that I've heard of). Although the whole city was a smash and grab after Katrina.

Well us taxpayers pay for all sorts of things for people that do to themselves. there are many illness that could be fixed by diet, exercise or not smoking.

Thats cause its bad news not good for tourism. Go to wwltv.com or wvue or wdsu new Orleans the local news and check it out. No smash and grabs that I've heard but its still early give it some time I imagine someone will try it

Too true. And the people who really need the help have trouble getting it. When I was living on my own I suffered from food insecurity but when I tried to get food stamps I was told I make 1000 dollars more a year than allowed. I worked full time and made 7 bucks an hour.

Absolutely but insurance canand will increase your premiums. When you get out of docs office you get a bill. As far as I know, and I hope I am wrong but we the people are footing the bill for covid. That's fine for those who are trying to be safe. If we all tried to stay safe there would be less folks in the hospital racking up a bill for we the people

Can you name something tax payers aren't paying for? Can you name the benfits you get from paying your taxes? The money was going to be used or taken from you with or without Covid 19 pandemic.

I've noticed the ones who are most vocal against our social safety net are the ones collecting unemployment, disability, medical while working on the side. I swear every time. Yes, always poopheads everywhere but WWJD- did want us to be good neighbors and Samaritans. Just saying....

Were more a Streetcar side, St Charles, when we go. Lately we watch it lying in bed, on TV.
My all time favorite though was 2006, (post Katrina) at St Charles and Jackson. The Zulu Crew brought a team of REAL Zulu warriors , with Mayor Nagin and General Honore behind them on horseback. There wasn't a dry eye in site.

Well, I drive on roads, think money spent trying to arrest a deadly virus is good too. I'll be using my ss soon.. I really don't have a problem paying my taxes at all. Well, as long as it does not go towards criminal lawyers for grifters that is. Big portion- most all goes to military/pentagon. So I help pay their wages, retirement, medical, education and then some more.

So in the big scheme of things, you may want to be more upset about paying 46 million for someone else's Viagra.
