My flock has came down w coryza i believe. They smell like roadkill, sneezing, and runny noses. Today is the third day of antibiotics. The red sex links went downhill fast but not to the point of swollen faces. The road islands started sneezing yesterday. As of now they no longer smell and the runny noses are gone. How long should i keep injecting the antibiotics? Im only giving 1/2 CC each once a day. I think i may have brought the virus from the county fair we had a couple of weeks ago.

Im sure its coryza. Isnt sulmet antibiotics? So far evreyone is showing improvement. When do i need to disinfect the coop?

If it is Coryza the best advice is to kill every bird that gets sick and medicate the survivors. Rotate the meds: Sulmet then injectible Duramycin or Noromycin some also use Tylan. You use the meds whenever there is a sick bird, but there does need to be a space of about 30 days between the meds.

As soon as one shows signs (not all will) take that bird out and kill it. Bury or burn the body.

Disinfect the coop every month: FROM NOW ON.

When not giving meds mix 1 oz of bleach to 1 gallon of drinking water: no metal waterers. Do this from now on.

Coryza is nasty. Expect problems for years to come or it is not coryza! HOPEFULLY YOUR DIAGNOSIS IS WRONG.

It will flare-up most during wet rainy times.

They had runny noses and smelled like death. Sneezing also . If its not coryza what is it?
