coturnix have stopped laying any advice?

I don't have 9 year old birds like JJ, but given the right conditions...Coturnix hens will lay eggs all the way up to the day they die.

Can someone talk more about molting in regards to lack of egg laying and also in general (how often? when? why?)
I have some birds that are getting the right feed enough light and are of laying age but are still not laying!
I have noticed a bunch of feathers in the pen--please say nmore!!
I have been distressed as I have never experienced this lack of laying--
I got the birds from a game bird supplier and they were laying when I got them but stopped (when I took them off artificial light) and have not started again, even though it is now light from 5:30am til 8:30pm.
so please what is up with the molting thing!!

When they molt they get new feathers, they will stop or not lay as much as they would normally. They need the nutrients that they put into the egg to help grow new feathers. To get the protein and vitamins they need they use what they would normally put into an egg. That's usually the cause.

How long does this process take? Does it happen at a regilar time oin the year or randomly? what prompts the molting? Will the bords molt all at once or again, radomly throughlut the flock.
I have 3 females and none of them is laying.. I have seen tons of feathers in the pen.
