I am do not know where you get the roomors about 1 sq ft per quail if you I am Ukrainian and have read tons of different books about quail FARMING and thay all says 13 sq in per bird. Now if you keep them as pets or to train a dog than you can do whatever you think is the write size and lok good for you. Thankyou.

I get my "rumors" from 40 years experience raising these birds, so it appears one of us is wrong, my money says its you.

Im not fussing at you tolik, I'm actually trying to help, if you want eggs you'll need more space.

One square foot contains 144 square inches.

13 square inches would be something like a cage that measures 6 inches by 2.25 inches...a cigar box would be 3 times bigger

If eggs are what you want, and their purpose is food (not hatching) I would get rid of ALL the roosters, you'll have a LOT less problems.

If you want hatching eggs, I would only keep one roo with nine hens, if he's a good one
