I think it's sticky-worthy.

Mrsengeseth, I just use shavings and have a low box with sand for dusting. When they're on wire, they prefer to lay their eggs in the sand... makes it easy to find their eggs. I tried to give them a pile of hay to nest in, and it's hard to find the eggs in there.

I also have a bare tree branch in there with multiple branches coming off, but I have never seen them on it like the bobwhites do. They are ground dwellers, like the buttons, and don't use perches.

I don't like the stromberg site for what they have on coturnix, as they say that coturnix can cross with bobwhites which just isnt the case. They buy from breedrs and take the breeders word for things and that's how the confusion starts. Plus colors like Rosetta are nothiing more than a lighter color of tibetan, Strombergs seems to like to post colors with new names that are OLD colors to get more cha-ching lol!

I appreciate the info though!

I wont get into that again lol

I wont believe it until theres genetic proof <---wanted to edit this to add that. Many breeders keep bobwhites and coturnix together and never get crosses. The birds separate and breed amung their own species in other breeders experiences. Ofcourse I still wouldnt risk it putting bobwhites in with coturnix because just like with mules, they CAN sometimes produce offspring...however it'shighly unlikely. Just like it's hard to get coturnix and buttons to cross (even though it is way more possible than bobwhite/coturnix). that's all i have to say about that.
