I have 4 chickens ages 3-4. Two have had sneezes or coughs constantly for 8 months. I have tried the Vita cure, now one of them has red neck with no feathers on the neck. Any helpful advise?

Oh gosh. I’m sorry.
Are you seeing new pinfeather quills trying to grow or are we taking straight bald around the neck?

Sounds like a chronic respiratory disease you’re battling.

Chickens don’t catch colds like we do. They acquire diseases that exhibit either constant respiratory symptoms such as you describe or ones that come and go over time.

The neck being red and featherless sounds more like a parasitic issue going on.
Or a late molt. Or both in combination, OR.....the respiratory illness is making them so uncomfortable that they are scratching there excessively.
That can happen with ear mites for example but it can also happen with an ear infection that’s occuring secondarily to chronic respiratory infections.
Their ears can hurt or itch if they get plugged up with puss.

Pictures might be helpful here.

Or some time really looking carefully up close at this bird to check for evidence of lice or mites.

Just trying to help, since the OP reached out.

I make suggestions based on the facts in the thread as I understand them. I ask questions if I feel I need more info. Always appreciate photos.

If I come in “in the middle” I’ll go back and read the thread in its entirety including recent or related threads posted by the same member, to try to get a broader picture. So far for this thread that’s all the info I had to work with, so I offered my best suggestion.
