The top pic is from a couple weeks ago when she kept her beak open gasping for air. The bottom pic is from today and shes doing great except sneezing. I have electrolytes in her water at all times and I will pic up some save a chick probiotics today. Is the Corid a antibiotic?

I had been posting in *help with sick peachick* and my peachick is doing alot better, we are finished with the Tylan 50 and with the safeguard but she is still sneezing! A couple of weeks ago she was breathing with her beak wide open and he chest sounded really weezy and that has cleared up. He poo is really watery and almost clear and sometimes it a dark green and solid. Any ideas on what causing the sneezing and watery poo's and what I should do next? My husband claims he seen her eat a feather a few weeks ago and he said it wasn't really big but he couldn't get it out of her beak quick enuf. I thought maybe thats what was causing her to not breath right but the Tylan 50 got rid of all of that. Still a struggle!
How long and how much of the tylan 50 have you been giving?
Have you checked them for mites if they have been ill they most likely haven't been dust bathing to get rid of them? If they have them they can crawl in their eyes around the lids and nostril see it here once i thought my hen was sick cause she kept closing her eyes and shaking her head and looked a bit fluffed and when i took a closer look i could see them crawling on her eye lids and even in her nostrial, i put a cc of ivermec on the base of her neck and tail and that fixed her right up.

Mine birds eat feathers all the time, never had one sneeze or anything else from them and i have 100's running around along with the peafowl.

Just in case i missed telling you.

I have a video of a peachick that has been gasping and sneezing for six or seven weeks. I would love to know how to post that video... This week I too that chick to the vet when I was having some fecal floats done.

I was fully expecting gape worms but when the vet put the scope down the throat and esophagus she found nothing. The tissue was normal in color, no swelling, no mucus, the sinus looked good, no nasal discharge, and the eyes are bright and clear.

But the chick gasps with nearly every breath and sneezes or coughs with about every six breaths. She gave the bird a shot of Ivermectin and a steroid and after two days I see no difference. The vet has no clue what the problem could be and has posted on her vet forum trying to find answers. I did hear her say under her breath she wants to do a necropsy if it dies.

We also did a separate fecal on just that bird and other than the Cocci that the entire pen has she found no worm eggs at all.

Does this sound like what you are seeing? Anybody have any experience with this?

Don't give the probotics or vitamins until after she is treated with the Corid
Structurally, CORID mimics thiamine (Vitamin B1) which is required by coccidia for normal growth and reproduction. When coccidia ingest CORID, they experience thiamine deficiency and starve from malnutrition.
CORID has been experimentally administered at many times the recommended dosage and duration with no signs of toxicity. and that is what kills the cocci if you give them vitamins and replace the thiamine then it will not be as effective if at all

Thats such a beautiful pic! Okay with the Tylan 50 I gave it at .23 cc orally twice a day for 5 days. I have a cake pan of play sand in her coop with her and I just put that in this morning. They love rolling around in it and this morning I thought it might be mites although I couldnt see any around her eyes. When we first got her she had mites and came with them, since shes been I. The house in our hospital coop she hasn't had access to dirt to dust bath so shes going at it right now:)
