Chirping
I now have 2 out of 7 that are cockrels. The first one has been crowing well for about a week and the second got a few good ones out this morning. Hopefully, no one else will crow!

Tail position suggests cockerel, comb leans towards pullet. This is Night. He's the sweetest chicken I've ever had. All it takes is for me to sit down for 5 minutes and he jumps on my shoulder.
I've always thought he's a rooster because of his behavior and scrawny looking feathers, especially the tail. His sister (same age) has a way rounder crest, small, round, fluffy tail and overall a more feminine appearance.
The only thing that makes me think is the comb. My other boys have bigger combs at this age. I want to sell him as a cockerel, but what if he's a pullet? 2 of his possible mothers have longer scrawny looking tails too... he's smaller than my other cockerels, but ever so slightly bigger than my pullets.
Hi2 weeks have passed. He's now 11 weeks old. Still no crow, but I think my only crower might not be letting the other 5 cockerels crow. He's crowing like crazy.
Comb hasn't changed much. I can't tell if he has a wattle. He's still scrawny looking. Smaller than my other cockerels. Clucks are pretty high pitched.

Thanks. All my cockerels already have big combs and my other pullets hardly have any comb.Sorry, I didn't mean to post 2 of the same pictures. This is one of my pullets. Her comb is much flatter. Hope this is of some help.
Your silkies are lovely! You have quite a few cockrels. I have 2 that i know of and I hope thats all! I really don't want any of my flat combed silkies to crow! Thanks. All my cockerels already have big combs and my other pullets hardly have any comb.
First 2 photos are my other cockerels and the other 2 are my pullets. I also have 1 cockerel with a very flat comb. He's 12 weeks old. He's in the last picture.
