Could i have some help with my 4h project

Vaseline or petroleum jelly is not toxic. Every prescription eye and many skin ointments for humans contains petrolatum as a base ingredient.
I had just been told that, so I added the question, but haven't found a good source for it being problematic in small amounts. (I haven't really had much time to look, though.) I think the confusion is from advice against using it to lubricate bound eggs, which is about not being water-soluable. Olive oil has similar concerns in that regard.

Permethrin is dangerous for cats.

True. Not only because cats are sensitive to it, but also since they groom themselves. Ingestion is really not good, absorbing thru the skin is also bad. For cats at least. Seems like that also applies to fish. So don't put a flea collar or spray on your fish.

Lots of cat hairball remedies involve large amounts of flavored petroleum jelly. It looks gross on the way out. Both from the front and the back. Haha. So yeah, petroleum jelly is not toxic.
