could i use this as grit for my chicks?

Of the two, I'd say go with the one for parakeets. The one for finches will be a lot finer. However you might end up paying more at PetsMart than you would at a feedstore. If you have a Tractor Supply/Atwoods/Orschelns or even just a local feedstore, you can get grit MORE appropriate for chickens. The grit for parakeets will be very fine, and ok for chicks but once your chicks are grown, they will be better with grit that is bigger and coarser.

I'd feel better going to tractor supply and getting a 5lb bag of chick grit. You don't want the chicks to have a whole lot of calcium when they're that little. It will cause health problems. I think it affects they're kidneys.
It would be cheaper too.

unfortunatley i live near chicago and i cant seem to find a feed store near me. once they get bigger ill find a new place to get grit from
