Could my well summer be starting to clock?!

I have 9 chickens of which my three well summers are the craziest and hardest to catch, I opened the nesting box today and she didn't move, normally she would! I just bought an incubator yesterday at 200 pound and I don't what this to happen, how do I stop! P.s. she's a young bird

It's defintley possible. I had a broody Welsummer and she was great. Does she puff up or scream at you when you touch her on the nest? If you want to break her broodiness you could put her in a wire cage that is sloped a little off the floor for a few days and that should do the trick. Or you could try simpler things like locking her outside of the coop all day. If I was you I would have used her instead of the incubator, it would be a lot easier and cheaper!

Normally she would run away as soon as the nest is opened and as soon as I lifted my hand to touch her she just ran away but could this be the start ?

She might have just been laying, although if she is going broody she will stay in the nest box for longer and longer. If you really think she is and you want to prevent it, try collecting the eggs as often as you can.

She was not sitting today so I suspect she was eggstapated
