Hey, i was wondering if peafowls would be able to protect chickens from predators like hawks, opossums, raccoons and maybe kayotes,etc. I would also like like know if peafowls would kill barn cats?

I have a friend who used to use peafowl to guard chickens. It never killed any of her cats

Yep! They do a good job too! I also think that geese do good jobs protecting flocks although there very loud and annoying! (learned that the hard way)

I think a rooster would provide more protection than a turkey

Hawks the peafowl can intemidate as adults. Great-horned Owls will be going after even adult peafowl after dark. Raccoons will also be able to take out a roosting peafowl.
