Could this kill him?

Normally I am the first one to say take it to a wildlife center, but when that is not an option, you just have to do what you can. I think you are doing an excellent job. Since you did find a break, putting him back in the tree wouldn't have helped him as much, although he may have healed ok, he might not have use of the leg. The biggest concern now, IMO, will be helping him learn to fend for himself in the wild. Good luck.

I have a room away from predators like my dog and cats and that I can teach him to fly and easy enough I had a set of valves at one point that I thought to fly and they were younger than him when They We brought to me. And I also stimulated them to flee at certain noises i’m keeping them away from the animals means that they’re not used to them so hopefully will have success with this little guy too

Oh so sweet!! Seems he is doing good in your care and will soon be recovered!

Sorry for the late reply, been a busy last couple of days! and Absalutely! He/she has adapted to the splint so well! I am proud to say that little bit is officially trying to fledge! i knew he was close to the age but oh my gosh am i so proud of the little guy! I've been doing sort of a physical therapy for him on balancing with just the one good legg and berif steps with the other and he's starting to use his toes to grasp more on the leg that broke so i'm hoping he'll have at least some function in it so he can do subtle things at least but his bruise is GONE like completely, it healed beautifully! and he is still eating so well, we have graduated as of today from a high protein cat food blend to crickets! This particular breed feeds on flying insects and some fruits but i don't have any way to catch the dragonfly's around here, they are fast little boogers and there aren't many but i read crickets and meal worms are a good substitute for them. because he's supposed to learn to catch his food though, i'm going to wait a little while till the flying starts taking place and sorta moving the food around via tweasers to take shots at getting it himself rather than opening wide for feed time. for now tho i'm just waiting for longer tail feathers lol

update :( I don't know what just happened... i woke up like normal, fed him like normal, and repeated it an hour later.. i just went back in to take care of him and as soon as i picked him up it was like he had a seasure and just died T-T I don't understand.. he was eating fine. he was plenty warm and hydrated.. i don't ... i'm so sad right now!

I'm sorry, that must be so sad for you. Even professional rehabbers have losses, heck even the birds lose babies in the wild. You gave it a try. You might look around and locate a wildlife rehab within a reasonable distance, in case you run into this situation again. Then you won't have time to get attached, and get your heart broken again.
