So here is a picture. I call him/her Party boy because he/she has been crowing for a week and he/she sounds like one of those party horns that kids blow on at parties. The other roos in the flock are trying hard to mate this bird so I am wondering if it is possibly a hen. Anyone experience anything like this? Thanks for all and any help.

Does it have any stringy type feathers kind of on the back side of the top knot?

I had no idea if my silkies were hens or roosters until they laid an egg!

Did any of your hens try to crow? I was wondering because she was hatched with 3 others that are boys and no hens would she try to mock them?

I had 6 silkies until recently...
however I do recall all of them opening their beaks as if trying to crow but most turned out to be legitimate pullets.
