Sorry, Karen, but if you only knew that baby's mother. People on BYC said she was a cockerel till she was 12 weeks old. Some of her babies have that same "sex confusion gene", LOL.

The funny thing about this is my BR hen's name is Zoe and my BR roo is Zachary.

Are you kidding, Pine?? Too funny! I love it. Hey, I'll have maybe 25-30 layers in the laying flock by late spring, so why couldn't I have three BR roosters? I'd have enough girls, right? Hmm, it's a thought. If I had to get rid of one of them, I'd have a hard time picking. Gabriel is very handsome and Zoe/Zach is very friendly. Choices!!!!

I hate having to decide who to keep. I'm going through that now too...having to decide who gets to stay and who goes to the auction.

Well, I won't be in a hurry to sell this one if it does turn out to be the rooster I think it is. If everyone gets along, maybe we can keep them both. You know, I'm still waiting for Gabriel to crow. The Ameraucana the same age has been crowing for weeks and Gabe has never even tried that I've heard. There is a baby monitor in that coop right now, so we'd hear it. Most of my BR boys crow by six weeks.
