Countdown begins! Day 1 (Will Update)

I deff have 4 chicks hatched. Have seen all 4 of them up running in and out from under the hen. As far as I know I only have 3 to go hen is still sitting strong!

5 chicks out 1 zipped and 1 peeped So if everything goes good through the night 7 out of 8 under my broody hen is a good hatching I think! So far eggs in the incubator nothing going on. 1 tried to hatch and died and the other 4 nothing yet. Today is 21 days so we are gonna give them a few more days and see what happens.

My hen hatched 4 chicks and 2 are now gone!

I don't know, those babies were poking their heads out and I even held one and they were so very cute! Anyway this morning...I went to lift my broody "Sally" up and there were only 2! They probably got under the chicken wire and the hens ate them. God I want to kill myself. My heart hurts so very much.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! Thats why i made sure to double wire my broodys pen and laid 2x4s along side the bottom of the cage. Nothing out and nothing in. You still have your 2 babies it happens some times its nothing we can help. I hope you have better luck next time! Iv been very lucky so far with this hatch next step is tomorrow when the hen comes off the nest to see how my roo does with the babies gonna be a wait and see. I watch to see if he acts aggressive towards time or steps on any of them if so I'll remove him. Last time tho he did very well with the chicks.

I went back out to secure it and.....to my suprize found the other 2 babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So she has her 4 babies back!!! I found the other 2 babies underneath the nest box and they were shivering. SO mom was very very happy to put them back under her wings. LOL!

I will put the wood on the bottoms! That is a great idea!!

I am so happy you found your babies! Not sure of count now it just started raining here but before it was 5 hatched 1 was zipping and 1 was peeping. Ill update later. It maybe friday or sat before Ill have pics. My digital camera broke! Going to buy one this weekend for my b-day!

Well happy birthday!

I had my birthday on the 7th and it was non productive and I loved it. Layed around doing nothing, just staring at chickens. LOL!

I put up some wood around the bottom and sucured the top better, so I think that will do it!

I am happy I found the other babies, we are all so stoked!
