Congratulations!!! The first egg is the best. We traded our rooster for an older hen, so we got a jump start on eggs (our other six gals still haven't begun yet). Even though we've been getting eggs since mid-August I still get a thrill when I find one in the coop every couple of days. It's like a treasure hunt!

I have four older hens who give me three or four very large eggs every day. The other day how ever we only got two one normal size extra large and one very small pullet size. I'm not sure if my new ones might have layed it or if it was just a very small egg from my other hens.

New hens are only about four months, and they all live in the same coop for the monet. Is it possible for them to lay at four months. They have all been feed lay pellets for about a month now.

When you get FIRST EGG aren't you supposed to blow insides out and save intact shell for posterity!?

Congratulations!!! Evey day is a holiday for me when I go out to collect the eggs.
