Countdown to Baby Chicks 2023 edition

Pics
Love the dog!! My last Sheltie (so far) was around when I had my last chicks, I always told him "mine" when they were near each other, he would "stay" in the yard when the girls were out and guard them. Sure do miss that dog.
Dogs are the best! I just tell Max they are babies, be easy. He listens better than most humans. My pure bred Beagle don't know he's suppose to be a hunting dog. The only thing he's ever found is the food bowl. He's terrified of the chicks. They move too fast for him lol

Worried that will happen to us, we just want a couple hens. We will see.
2 barred rocks, 1 olive Eggers (very light gray) and 1 Ameraucana (light tan w darker markings) I am happy, dh is happy and babies are quiet and settling in, pictures to follow, after our nap. Had to stand around for over an hour to maintain our place (FIRST) in line. I am done in!!!! But we got our babies.
17 weeks to go! 😊
I'm excited for you.

Bad news guys... I have to go to tractor supply to get T-posts for our garden extension because they have the best ones for cheap, and they are having their $1 chick sale until May... The last time I went to tractor supply and they had their sale going on, we left with 4 babies..... I better put my blind fold on
ear muffs too… once you hear the cheeping it’s over

I held back even after I went in and looked.

I got my shipping notice from Ideal Poultry tonight... The Post Office says delivery by tomorrow! I talked to my letter carrier and she said they hold and call for chicks-- I'm hoping for an early call tomorrow!

Now, I just have to decide if I need some olive eggers to go with the chicks I have coming in tomorrow. Both Tractor Supply and my local feed store have chicks coming in next Tuesday. The new coop and run I'm building should be good for at least 15 chickens.
