Mint chip and double chocolate! 😍 Those are some beautiful eggs!!

I'm still waiting over here. Stiiiilllll waiting. Athena has teased me by acting like she's going to lay every couple days or so since the first incident over a week ago, but nothing from her yet. Some of my older girls are starting to come back into lay, though, so blessedly I am getting an egg here and there at least!

This is what I am going through only mine haven't gone in the nest boxes just lots of time in the coop

So today I peeked under my poop boards jic, I normally peek under 1 but forgot to peek under the other ... And there are 2 eggs.... Ugh. Guessing at least 1 is a new layer as it is pale green, color didn't show in the pic.... But shape and size looks like my EE but she lays very pale blue and compared to hers it was a different color. It is big for a first egg though.... And NO clue who laid it since my camera doesn't show under it. There was a tan egg with it which may or may not be a new layer.... It may be someone starting up again.

Now the problem... I don't know when they were laid. I think I last looked in that spot maybe 5 days ago. It has been in the 30-40's for a high.... Should I toss them or should they be fine???

Hopefully whoever it is finds a nest box next time.

I would think they'll be fine, but if in doubt, I'd use them soon, and, before adding them to a dish, break them into separate bowls to check smell and appearance.
I put them right in the fridge since I wasn't sure how long they have been cold outside for.

ok so dumb question.

So I have been paying close attention to my coop cam in hopes of finding out who laid under the poop boards...... Well my EE (April 2021 hatch) has been running all over looking like she is searching. I have put stuff in the spot that they laid last time. She laid a darker turquoise/green egg before she stopped laying. Could she lay a really LIGHT egg if it was her that just started up after a few months???? Thinking maybe it was her egg. But her eggs were NOT a pale color before.

I know they can't change colors but what about be lighter of maybe the same color..... like a LOT lighter. LOL
