Countdown To Eggs! For June hatches 😊

Woohoo, congrats!! :celebrate

I'm still over here waiting on someone, anyone else to start laying. It's still just Athena for my June babies and Gwenyth the naked neck from the Easter babies. :th Trixie, the other Easter baby, has been checking out the coop lately, though, and several of the other June pullets are looking more flush and full in their combs and wattles. :fl
I am still waiting on my April CCL to start!!!! Ugh. Then have 2 more July babies. Those 3 have all had big red comb and wattles for a while. And check out the coop/boxes here and there. Then an Aug baby that is getting pink/red.

Hopefully yours start soon!!!!!

Got 2 eggs for the first time ever today and neither of them was in the box Rainbow lays on so I can say for certain that at least 1 was from a June girl. I suspect they both were as Martha favoured the same box as Rainbow when she was laying last September.

As long as we learn lessons then all the waiting will not be for naught!

My July and I THINK Aug baby have all beat my April baby with egg laying?!?!?! My April girl goes in the coop here and there but not often....... She is driving me NUTS!

I have a second June pullet laying as of a few days ago, and I suspect I know who but am not 100% sure. But still, 2 / 5 June babies laying now!! :celebrate And nothing from my Easter pullet of the same breed yet.

I had no idea what chickens I wanted and ended up with 6 different breeds. It all depends on what you want in a chicken. About a year into it, I knew exactly who was staying and who was going. Experience is priceless! My family has soft hearts and don’t want to see them go, but I send em on down the line when they don’t fit my needs.

Oops. 😝

Printer error 🤣 Beautiful egg nonetheless!

I sort of lost track of this thread, but I'm sitting at 4 of my 5 June pullets laying for sure now, and the 5th might be laying as well, I just haven't caught her in the act to confirm it! :celebrate And I'm still waiting on my Easter baby of the same breed to lay.

You sound like me. All my July pullets are laying, my Aug pullet is laying ..... Still waiting on my April (mid) CCL to start.... She looked like she was going to a week or so ago with spending hours in the nest box. I started to worry she was egg bound. Then boom stopped sitting in the boxes. She still goes in the coop here and there but just to scratch around.... I am starting to think she will never lay....

Hmm, is there anywhere that she could be hiding eggs? I wonder if maybe she is laying but decided your nest boxes weren't where she wanted to lay and that's why she stopped sitting in them. 🤔
