Countdown to receiving new chicks on oct 9th week

Sorry to hear that I have a quad of them. Two are partridge cochins, and two girls are buff x partridge.

My rooster is giant, and is a huge baby. He wouldn't hurt a fly, and watches out for the chicks.

He is amazing ! How much does he weigh? Speaking of dogs...my girls are way too fond of chasing animals etc, squirrels and rabbits drive them crazy ...they are both hounds. So the chickens are off limits to them completely. Maggie is my coonhound mix and she caught a duck once ..I freaked out on her and after that I fed the ducks on the other side of the fence.

Oh no poor chickies. I hope they pull thru for you. My little ones have loved hard boiled and scrambled egg. Today they got mashed sweet potato and loved it all good sources of natural goodies. Keep us updated.

The two little Faverolles who were so weak are now up and about...eating, drinking, pecking and pooping. Two days of hand-feeding, but it was worth it. The smallest one is terribly rotten. It runs straight to my hand expecting to be fed any time I reach into the brooder.

I am so glad they are pulling thru. My 10 chicks are also super spoiled but then again the flock outside are also super spoiled. When I walk out the front door they all come running like a heard of buffalo

Except the turkeys they fly lol. I love my birds and they get LOTS of treats and attention, my DH calls me the crazy chicken lady and now that has spread thru town and I have actually had people search me out to ask help with their poultry whether it be finding them homes, which I cant turn down and adopted 4

, or help treating.

Most of us have spouses that aren't nearly as obsessed as we are. I think my fiance is tired of hearing my play by play on what happened down at the coop, but I can't help myself

Yes I know that one. The spaceing off as I replay my day with the birds. I tell him every evening what happened and who did what and anyones new behaviors. Yea I usually get ignored

But it would be nice to have someone to tell about my day who cares.. EERRGG!!! But that is what happens when you marry someone who isnt crazy about animals, and you are an animal nutball. But I think no matter how much he denies it he is being worn down

Only if I can tell you Today I caught 3 girls in one small nesting box and had a good laugh. That was 1 barred rock, 1 silkie and 1 polish all crammed in

Oh and I fed them scrambled eggs. There was a frenzy involved.
