Counting down the day until baby chicks get here!!!!!!!!

Thanks Lolita! I was such a nervous wreck the first few days, worrying over them! My husband kept calling me a momma hen!

They are too much fun. And, I am ready to know who is a girl and who is a boy, but that is going to have to wait a while!!!

Down to two days now. Should arrive Monday, could be Sunday or Tuesday. Leaving my cell phone on and with me.... The post office staff reassures me that they'll call me as soon as they arrive, and hope that I come quickly. "They make a hell of a racket back there." they said. I can imagine!

So my last post, they were two days out. Now they've been here three and a half weeks, that's how busy I've been!

They are out in the coop, because at 3 weeks of age they are too rambunctious for the brooder box. They still haven't gone out in the run yet; I'm sure the 8 foot 45 degree ramp is intimidating to them. (Of course, the piece of watermelon was intimidating to them at first, too, not the bravest of birds, but you can watch them thinking hard about stuff, and it's a riot!)

So now I gotta switch over to the "raising our babies" thread.

Those of you who are still waiting for your chicks, hang in there, and have fun with them when they arrive!

I got my chicks today!!!!! ( I was actually a little irritated because I didn't receive an email informing me of their shipment, so I was surprise and unprepared when I received the phone call. I was going to get everything ready when I receive the email). Anyways, all chicks were alive an healthy. Here's a pic

A had to put them in this temporary tub while I rushed to clean and fix their brooder.

I got mine yesterday. I also didn't receive a email so I wasn't sure when I was going to get them. AND... my car starter went out the night before so my DH had to go pick them up for me which made him late for work... anyway the hatchery didn't send me any extras at all so I'm hoping none die. So far this morning all are well and eating and drinking good. so I've got my fingers crossed they all do well. I've always received extras before when I ordered 25 or more chicks for a hatchery so it was strange to not get any this time.
