Couple of coop questions

I would make one other suggestion: It looks like your roosts are turned with the narrow end up. From everything I've read in here, that can cause troubles for your chickies feets, (bumblefoot?) since they aren't actually 'perching' birds that need to grasp. Depending on where you are, they also need to be able to cover their toeses with their bodies to keep from getting frostbite in the winter. I know they're still young, but it's amazing how fast they'll grow out of the narrow roost!!

Awesome coop, tho'! Enjoy!

Gorgeous coop!

I looked at using milk crates too. My full grown EE hen was cramped in a 12 x 12 space and then when I saw how big the new girls grew I couldn't see how they would fit in milk crates comfortably. I built bigger than milk crate size.

Bottomline--depends on the adult size: some LF are 4-5 pounds, some as big as 10 pounds; most FL dual purpose types are 6-7 pounds like the EE I have.

Hope this helps!
