We need a run but after the expense of the coop my husband built - we can't afford to build one with new materials and have to wait to scrounge. In the meantime I have a play yard out there with extra panels and it makes a decent stand it coupled with some supervised free ranging at the end of the day.

Right now I'm using odds and ends of chicken wire rolls over the top. It's messy, dangerous (at least pokey), and unwieldy.

Can I use this you think? It's not going to keep hardcore predators out - that's not what I want it for - just keep the girls in until I can come up with a better plan...

Bird netting is what I used over my run. After we built chicken screened panels and attached them, we ran small steel cable and attached the netting to it with zip ties which are my new best friend next to duct tape

We used that product to cover our run after a terrible hawk attack. The netting got caught on heavy wet snow and ripped and replaced it. We plan to save up some money for a permanent cover/fencing.
