I'm NPIP certified and AI clean for many years since I started my Serama flock. For the past 10 days, I have lost at least a bird a day and sometimes more. Today, I lost 4 and range from 7 months to 2 years old. For the past 3 years, I can count on one hand of how many birds that may have had a cold. So, I'm at a loss and very very upset. I have never brought or bought any other birds on my property since then. All my birds were hatched on my farm. I have custom coops for them, because they require a lot more heat in the winter than other types of bantams. I'm lost at what is killing all my Seramas, which shows no signs and/or symptoms until it's too late. When this first started, I put them on Doxy-tyl and Doxybiotic-s, Vetrx, etc. Today, I put them on vitamin electrolyte water and 2 warm humidifier with Vetrx.
The symptoms are, very watery discharge in 1 or 2 eyes, but not with all of the birds. Severe sneezing, coughing with heavy discharge from the eyes and nose. After they die, the mucus coming out of their mouths.
I would appreciate any and all answers of what I'm dealing with. Also, if there is anything else I might have left out, please let me know. I had to stop writing this to bring one of my 3year old roosters, that has never ever been sick a day in his life! So, I hope you can understand, I really need help as fast as you can give it.

These are they symptoms my girls had and it is mycoplasma gallisepticum, MG. One almost died because she was choking on the thick mucus but I happened to be there and saved her. We treated with tylan.

They have been treated with doxy-tyl for 7 days and I believe this is a viral. So, the medication is not working. I don't know where this came from, because like I said, none of my birds ever had a sniffle. I'm at a loss of what this is. Thank you for getting back

It's possible it's a bacterial infection that is resistant to doxycycline and tylosin.
