I am with you farmer kitty - We have government introduced mongrel wolves here too. They are not pretty and all of our animals are pretty much a free kill for them. I think you at least have some rules where you can protect yourselves better than we are allowed here with this program.
Wolves here have stalked kids coming home from school, killed a little girls horse in his own paddock, attacked dogs near children, killed pets, not to mention all the other horses and cattle (lots of business have gone under or been sold)...oh and the spree killed elk (just dead, wasted and rotting) and worse things done to momma elks while they were left to die...they are not mystical or pretty when they are doing that. I have pictures and it is horrible.
These wolves are not even pure since two of the original breeding pairs came with unknown and suspect heritage with dog characters. One was dropped off by an unknown guy on a motorcycle. I actually have the government documents amazing miss use of power to put these hybrids out to harm people. Lovely tax payer program here.
Here is a link to the biological documents

But the biologist set the rules, creates the programs and collect their paychecks. Then tell us we should not live here on our land we bought a few years when they pushed the ranchers out. What?
Predators denning near homes is dangerous. It is one of the signs for future human attacks. Part of being too familiar with humans. I think this is what is happening with the kids getting attacked by coyotes in NJ. I hope the coyotes denning under the deck were removed. They have unfornatually already taught their pups bad lessons.
I cannot wait for the introduction of grizzles and jaguars.
Why are we paying to establish predators that kill humans and allowing these animals to harm our communities. Just not sure what is going on in the world. I also wanted you all to be aware what is going on if you were not.
I love animals but want to be safe and not allowing people to protect themselves when a grizzly is ripping to door off their home or a Mexican gray wolf chasing their dog back and even into the house. Crazy.
They will be releasing more cage raised Mexican wolves throughout NM and AZ soon. These hybrid wolves will disperse 100s of miles. I just want everyone in our neighboring states to be aware of what is coming along with protections for the wolves and not for your property.
Why are people supporting this program? If they have seen the carnage I have or even had to see the faces of the people having to pick up all their dead animals it is saddening. Oh and no compensation if the loss of a pet could be compensated for. Sorry for the soap box we have been through a lot with this wolf program.
A friend of mine had a wolf in her back yard for 4 months. Her kids had no summer. Her great Pyrenees dog was killed by the wolves. Two Pyrenees will take on 1 wolf but a few wolves makes is hard for any group of dogs.
As for predators ... I do not know how to shoot but I do call the local hunters to take care of a habituated lions when we have had them. The bears here are pretty good and I think that is due to hunters but we did have a tent ripped this summer and a man was attacked. The wolves here are habituated and the managers allow them denning near homes.
I have learned a lot here about building a safe and secure coop, I would have made a lot of mistakes without this research and info you all have provided. I do appreciate all your experience. My goals are safety and security for my future girls along with my horses, dogs, cats, and the humans too.
thanks and sorry for the soap box.
