Coyotes are after my calves! UPDATE

I hope it works out for you as well. Maybe they will tag some of them tonight. I don't know if y'all have been as droughty as we have this year, but lots of folks here are trying desperately to get rid of excess livestock, CraigsList is full of free farm animals here. You might give it a look for a couple of good jacks. It's a place to start since you're in a bit of a hurry.

Hope you'll keep us posted and let us know if there's a few less coyotes on your place after tonight!

Thanks for the heads up on the farm animals! It is not too bad here. Horses are the main thing everyone is trying to unload here. I talked to one guy who had a jack and jenny but he would not seperate the pair and wanted $700 for them, unregistered stock. That is WAY out of the relm of possibility for me. Yikes!!!!

Im up in the NW section of Ga also. Look on Craigslist, in all over the NW section of Ga and North/east Alabama. There are plenty of free donkeys, you just have to look. Even if you have to travel some to get them

PS Your calf is the cutest calf I have ever seen! I esp love the ears, I just want to hug him/her!

Thank you very much Jackie B. I never did figure that one out on my own. I still don't understand how a male donkey can protect cattle against coyotes.

They make a lot of noise to scare them away and they will kick the crap out of them. A friend of mine has some with his dairy cows. As a matter of fact we found a dead fox in his field one day that you could tell was kicked to death.
