ha ha...I know, but I did.
They don't normally venture to close in to this part but on occasion...I'm on the outskirts of town, subdivisions behind me, pasture and feilds, then woods across the road from me.
So I'm out there with my dogs, one's over weight and one's old, deaf, and blind.
I'm tendin to the chickens...later than normal, been laid up with back problems and other health issues and my 2 year old dd was being a bear tonight....at any rate the chickens are getting all wound up cuz their water dish is empty....so I was plugging the bowl in and adding more.
I step outside and I hear the howls and yips of coyote...and REALLY REALLY close too.
So I hurry with what I'm doing and lock it up and get the dogs and the cat inside and scramble to not let the INSIDE black cat out---since he's famous for escaping but then he gets out and runs and gets scared...but in the dark...he's hard to find sometimes.
And then my old dog who was following me is not behind me anymore so I have to go back outside and fetch her...can't call her, wouldn't hear me anyway.
So I guess I am about to find out how "predator" proof my coop is, heh?
I'm kind of nervouse about it. I would say all is good but I am a wee bit concerned about their lil side door. I don't think I have that proofed as it could be.
I had a fix it guy coming here but he called and cancelled for a week. I was going to have him look at it, since dh is in Iraq.
I know this sounds crazy but I was scared like they were gonna come get me or my old dog.
that's right...go ahead and laugh at me now....laugh when I'm down. go ahead.
me,
g
