I was checking my duck’s eggs as I do every night - candling them to see the growth. I picked one up and my thumb put a hole into it! I know I didn’t grab it hard so I think the eggshell was weak there or already a bit cracked.
The embryo is still alive and moving. Saran wrapped the egg and attempted to give it back but she immediately rejected. Have it sitting wrapped in a heating pad while the incubator warms up.

What should I do? I’m not 100% sure when she started incubating. The chicks are small but seem mostly there
Here’s a video I took of said egg video

The crack is about the size of my thumb, more of a hole than a crack. I don’t think it broke the membrane of the egg.

I see something moving!

Looks like baby is alive and well! I would patch that up with some nail polish, and hopefully you'll be good to go. Just try to keep the bator very clean by washing, or gloving your hands before opening it. That egg will be very susceptible to bacteria.
