We've been blessed with a really good rooster, but we do hatch out a lot and are also starting a WFBS breeding project, and right now we've got 10 little cockerels (probably will stick with no more than 3-4 of them, though--that's just how many we ended up with). One of the reasons we got so many is that we will keep/breed those with the best temperament. The rest will be put in a special pen Farmer Lew is building. It will have a nice run and comfortable digs with a little sign that says "Freezer Camp". It is where ALL the ill-tempered chickens (be they roos or hens) will find themselves. They will be well-fed and well-treated and have a good life.... for a while.

Then they will made into kung pao, roasted on the grill, stewed with dumplings, skewered for kabobs....

Dang I'm trying to get rid of seven of mine now and I'm offering them for free...not to mention they are decently calm roosters. That person is a bit crazy.

Maybe someone is running an illegal cock fighting event and a real mean rooster is highly prized - the meaner the better -
