I don't want you guys to think that I am just some person that thinks everyone should know everything. I really do like to teach people the things that I know and I love to learn. I learn everyday but seriously there are some people that just can't be helped.

What an exciting day that must have been to find out that there are tons of breeds. I would have loved to have been there to see the excitement

love the ones that come and ask " how many eggs a day does this certain breed lay?" I explain how chickens lay eggs and how often and then they argue that they have chickens at home that lay 4 or 5 eggs a day!! I asked them if they only pick up there eggs once a week and then they look at me funny.

I am torn between laughter and disgust. Because if you sell chickens to someone like that, they might pester you no end- or they might let the chickens die of neglect.

I guess I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the idea of selling chickens- I sold 2 roos, after I had verified (interviewed!) the buyers to make sure they knew what they were doing.

The next 7 went as a group, and I said I deliver or no deal. And I REALLY got lucky there, but not as lucky as the roos! They are living high on the hog! I even get regular email updates on them and their flocks.

That lady has a loose screw somewhere, and IMO is dangerous to all living creatures!

*ranchhand shakes head and walks away sadly*

*and then laughs at stupid questions!*

ETA: There is NO such thing as a stupid question on BYC- if you got here, you are plenty smart! Don't want to scare the new members, ask away!

Oh most of the people that I sell to are usually either adding to their flock and know what they are doing or they are coming to learn and start a little flock of their own. I usually spend about an hour or more when they come to get birds and I welcome all questions and concerns. I get alot of email updates and one lady has even brought the chickens that she got from me back to my home to show me how well they were doing. I have actually taken birds out of people's hands because I found out they were planning to use them for blood bait or fighting. I refuse to sell to anyone that does not have their heart into what they are doing but that don't keep the weirdos from calling me and asking me out of this world questions. I think it is awesome when a family wants to start raising their own flock and teaching their children how to do such things. If I am ever in doubt of the homes that my birds go to then I just don't make that sale.

I hope that eases your worries a bit
