I am so jealous! Every time I call on one it's just been sold. Hope I find a deal like yours-congratulations!

You'll probably need to add some reinforcement on the sides so that no predators wiggle their way in...

Trust me, the holes are big enough. Sorry if this was already established in an earlier post.

One step closer to getting the chickens into their new coop today. We got the top put on. (Thank you so much georgiagail, for the hoop top idea)

We are able to make it tall enough that even my 6'6" husband can stand up in it. Pictured is a friend of mine who is around 5'10" and he has plenty of height above him yet.

I am excited. My husband works late tomorrow but Wednesday we are going to try and get the reenforcement mesh ran around the bottom and this next weekend hopefully an actual house built in there as well as the automatic feeders and bucket nipple waterers done.

Too excited!

I scored a dog run much like that one for $50 off CL spring 2010 - it also had a matching panel to clamp on top too! Wrapped hardware cloth around the bottom and used it for my baby chicks this past spring 2011. But wish I'd thought of the PVC arch! Maybe I'll add those next time...

howdy,

Might I suggest you consider locating the coop outside the run and cutting an opening large enough for the door through the chain link? This may seem difficult but it is not and will free up way more room in the run. The chain link is not very hard to cut, and the cut ends can be twisted back with pliers to insure there are no sharp edges exposed. Then the chain link can be attached to the face of the coop with fence staples.

We placed our second coop for our bantams inside of the run and have wished we had not ever since. In the end to make up for the small run footage we added a second smaller run. Here is the build pictures for the bantam coop, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=507031

If
nothing else trying to build inside a finished run is going to drive you nuts, did me!
