I am sure i have lavender going through them i had breed a hen that i bought to a black becouse i thought she had that nice sheen lav coloring and the babys were comeing out s6e black and some the self blue coloring what is your email i can send pics the pics are not that great becouse they r taken from my cell

Sorry to break it to you but that hen was/is a blue.. Don't even have to see pics. Breeding a black to a blue wil give black and blue chicks.. But breeding a black to a self-blue (lavender) will ONLY produce 100% black chicks that are split (carrying) the self-blue (lavender) gene. You will only get self-blue (lavender) chicks after then breeding those split chicks back to each other and only then will it be 25% of the time. And of course when you breed self-blue to self-blue (100% self blue chicks), Self blue to Splits (75% self-blue chicks), Split to solid black (12.5% self blue chicks)

Hmmm she does have some other markings some babys have that come out the self blue have some markings and the offspring are light blue not the original blue when i bought the hen they said that she was a lavender split splash so then what color would u call the light blues?
