I am also a crazy chicken lady in Delaware Ohio! I love your idea of building coops with pallets, and an old wooden swing set, I also have an old wooden swing set in my backyard.........hmmm.
So far, I have a pair of blue ameraucana, just bought an incubator and am getting ready for more, that means more coops! maybe we can swap chickens sometime when we both get rolling!
It was just last year about this time when I posted my original posts, and boy have things gone well since then! I have built a coop, a huge one, using old shipping crates and miscellaneous wood we bought from an auction, as well as seconds from a tin roof company and fencing I got from an auction as well. My wooden swing set coop worked very well for the meat chickens and now I use it as a isolation area for the others if needed. I have several pictures on here of both coops, check them out, Munchkin Mountain coop...
Today, I am hatching my first chicks from my eggs, and the saga continues!!
